Why it caught on: in Revenge of the Sith (2005) Palpatine, tied to a chair aboard Grievous's ship, quietly tells Anakin to finish off the disarmed Count Dooku: "Do it." Anakin does, then says "I shouldn't have." The way Ian McDiarmid stretches it into "dew it" made it the sub's devil on the shoulder - and, inevitably, a Mountain Dew joke.
